Essay problem, good things about mills?

ok. this is kind of a weird question but...
I am doing this esaay about mills and I cant think of any good points about them, well one but I cant find the price of cotton in the 19th century so I cant show the decreasing price. Anyone know anything good about them? any advice would be great. thanks!

what type of mills are you intrested in?
because there are different types like sugar mills and four mills and then you have cotton and they all are different in a certain way?
