Engagement and wedding date

Asked by 1indinha over 2 years ago, 2 answers.

My boyfriend and I are planning on getting engaged. But we are not sure if right after doing that we need to set a date for the wedding or if we could wait a month or two.

Getting engaged imply that we need to set a wedding date or can we just use an engagement as a symbol of our love and that we already know that we are going to get married soon?

Getting engaged does not imply that the date must be set. Some engagements may be as short as 6 months and others longer than 3 years. Getting engaged simply states that you are now entering a different stage in your relationship where you are moving towards marriage. Do not feel rushed to set anything in stone, yet, take your time.
