How to give a presentation with my anxiety?

Shark Atack Asked by funadvice about 1 year ago, 5 answers.

Alright, so for my english class, I need to present a project on the independant novel I read. The project should be about 3 minutes long, but the problem is I have no idea what style to present! I can't do a powerpoint because I can't work the...

computers -woe is me- and I'm not comfortable reading a speech to the class as I have social anxiety. Any unique suggestions on how to present a summary of my novel? It has to be presented Thursday, so suggestions as soon as possible!

Thanks.

Are you allowed to do a video clip and play it to the class? You might be less shy in front of a camera on your own.

Be CALM, COOL, AND ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.. PRACTICE THAT PRESENTATION..UNTIL YOU FALL OUT. *SELL YOURSELF*.. ACT AS THOUGH YOU ARE TRYING TO CONVINCE THESE PEOPLE THAT THEY NEED AIR TO BREATHE.. FIXATE THAT IN YOUR HEAD.. STAND IN A MIRROR.. LET YOURSELF KNOW YOU ARE DOING FINE. ROLE PLAY---MEANING, PUT ON THE ACTUAL OUTFIT YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR AND..WORK IT, HONEY!! CONFIDENCE BRINGS BEAUTY FOLLOWS SELF CONFIDENCE.

So I did a presentation recently and I stared at my friend so it was like no one else but her and the teacher were there...Even though I was suppose to look at everyone lol

I too have social anxiety, but neocanis has the right idea. Just zone out on everyone, but give fleeting glances to your classmates just so you get the Spoke to the Audience acheivement from your teacher.

The first thing you need to do for yourself is to write out an outline of a bookreport, (or summary of the book) so that you narrow down what you want to focus on when you do your presentation. Then you can get creative, and make a 3-D diarama on a few of your favorite scenes from the story (make sure that those scenarios are cental to the theme and plot of the story) and then just talk about why you chose to depict these three scenes over the whole story... decide whether you liked the book or not and then discuss the book based on that angle, using your diarama as reference.

If this isn't clear enough (I'm trying to be consice) let me know, I'll try again. But let us know what you did in the end anyway.
