How do i deal with an embarrasing family?

I have a mom, dad, brother, sister and two very annoying and loud dogs. I hate bringing people around to my house because I'm scared they might think my families weird, as quite frankly..they are! I like having people around, but sometimes i get really...

embarrassed. Would you think anything different if you had a friend/ girlfriend whose family were a bit odd? Would you feel uncomfortable in their house? They are friendly, just embarrassing to me.

hahaaha, yes. this is typical for teens to feel like their family is odd. i know mine is, but if people are your true friends, they won't mind. they'll know that everyone's got their quirks. but if you're really insecure about it.. just let the person know.. like orison said. i would do the same thing. usually people take it pretty well.

The truth is everyone's family is a bit odd! I used to think that my family was odd and different untill I talked about it with friends and noticed that everyone's family was a bit odd. If you come from a healthy family with no major problems then just be grateful!! With time you'll realise that maybe your family isn't that odd afterall...

Everyone is deferent in their own way. You can’t judge some by the people they live with.( really you should judge people anyway) Most of the time people would prefer to be around someone else house because we all feel like our families are weird. Don’t worry about what others would think because you miss out on good things in life by doing so, just remember anyone that is close to you will love you for who you are now, but not by what you were or where you came from..

I know exactly what you mean. I think sometimes that my family is the weirdest on the island but amazingly, I've grown to enjoy their little quirks and so have all my friends. When I first bring someone over, I just warn them that I have lots of animals and that my family can be a little weird and it always does the trick! Now I almost cant keep my friends away.
