How do you make it easier to give your dog a bath?

My dog goes crazy he hates taking a bath even tried to bite me how can i make it more easy so he likes taking a bath?

Answer #1

cover its face , i dont know it will work or not

Answer #2

I tried it doesn’t work he pushed me down.

Answer #3

give it a toy he likes? maybe that’ll calm his nerves. How often did you do this? or did you just get him and he isn’t used to water.

Answer #4

Covering his face is just gonna scare him..or heer.

Answer #5

what if it likes shower? it feels to me like end of the world , so any thing can happen

Answer #6

I try and give him a bath every 2wks or when he is very dirty or smells. See i give him toys works for a little then after a little he freaks out badly.

Answer #7

Give your dog a treat before and after you give it a bath.

Answer #8

My dog absolutely loves water so much it’s actually hard to bath him because he gets too excited. But my Nan’s old dog would only let her clip his nails if she fed him a vegemite sandwhich so I suggest you give him whatever he likes in exchange for a bath. Bribe him, basically. Good luck!

Answer #9

I usually put my dog on a leash so that he’ll keep still while I’m giving him a bath.

Answer #10

Some cats and dogs are so difficult to bathe it’s easier for the vet office to do it. Or you can explain it to the vet and they may give you some tranquilizers to give a pet just before bathing them to keep them calm. My huskey used to go nuts while trying to bathe her. In the summer months it was easier. as I would bathe her outside in a big plastic pool. Still had to hold onto her collar and wear a bathing suit as I’d get soaked in the process too but she was more accepting of it then the bathtub. You could also try a long detachable shower head rather then filling up water they feel emmersed in.

Answer #11

Talk to him calmly, and pet his head, while scrubbing one side of his body. some people put a leash and tie the dog to the tub so he doesn’t move around as much, but that’s a bad habit to get into.

Answer #12

give lots of treats !

Answer #13

give lots of treats ! And covering their face will probably just freak them out even more

Answer #14

Hook it to a leash than hook it to something else where it can’t go far and talk to it soothingly

Answer #15

Benedryl…wait until it kickx in and have at it….and don’t worry benedryl will not harm the dog!!

Answer #16

bribe him/her with a treat, once he/she gets in, give it to him/her, then once your done give them another one for being good (:
