Has anyone on this site been to easter island?

Has anyone on this site been to easter island? you no the island with all the heads? we are thinking about going on a short break next year and were wondering what easter island was like... it looks amazing

It's in the Pacific Ocean off Chile, as far as I know. It's a long way from anywhere and it must be pretty expensive to get there! I'm also not sure the weather's great - it's pretty far south, isn't it? As you can see, I haven't been there. It must be amazing and I can see why you'd like to go. But you're right to find out a lot more - my guess is that it's not exactly a tourist hot-spot because it's inaccessible and hardly a tropical island.

I have wanted to go for a long time now. I was going to go last year but decided to go to thailand instead but I know that many tourists go there and theres an airport there just for tourism and flights each day out of Chile.
