Embarrassed to go dress shopping due to my weight

ok, my school is having a dance soon for our graduating class(8th grade) and I might want to go. me and my 3 other close friends were talkin about it the other day. one of my friends thought that it wud b fun if we all go shopping for dresses together....

another of my friends doesn't want 2 attend the dance and the last friend doesn't think that she wants 2 go shopping w. us.

my problem is that I'm overweight, I'm not going to say kinda overweight, I'm overweight. I'm not like in dager of dying, overweight, but I think you get it now. I'm embarrased 2 go shopping w. my friend cause I'm afraid that I will not be able 2 find a dress that I feel comfortable in that I like and that looks good on me. I know that my friend will like me no matter what, but I'm planning on seeing my crush at the dance and I dont want to embarrass myself in front of him. I have a really great personality, everyone (most) likes me(not meaning 2 be conceited). I think I have a pretty face, but...I need some advice... HELP!

I honestly don't suggest wearing a dress to a dance, it will probley get really uncomfortable after a while. You should just buy a cute skirt and a cute top to go with it. Don't worry about your body - just buy and outfit that suits your body shape. You don't have to be skinny to look good, trust me! If you start thinking about it too much, it will just ruin your hope, so stay calm.

I think you should go with your friend. So you're overweight? So what? You deserve to look fabulous just like anyone else does. You won't know if you find a dress that's uncomfortable or doesn't look good, if you don't go and check out what they have. Don't be worried about they way you'll look. Look for something that complements you. Black is a great color that is slimming ( all of my dresses are black)

Well Honestly you shouldn't care what people think about you,and if your crush doesnt like you for you then he's not worth it. In my opinion you should go to the dance and go shopping and find a fabolous dress and just have a great time and if people make smart comments it's just because their HATER.Z everyone has them sometimes its good! LOL But you could find something comfortable to wear if you nedd any ideas just request me...! =-D

babe im sorry you are what you are. so flaunt it! im sure your gorgeous and if as many people like you as they say you did. you being in a dress isnt going to change their mind. just buy something cute and comfortable and have a great time. you only get an 8th grade dance once so make the best of it :]

you should go to dress barn. they have really cute dresses there or jcpenney and Cato. they all have dresses that fit every shape. its the same with me too. I can never find a good dress but those stores should help!

im sure you are way happier then a lot of models who throw up after every meal. the point is you should have fun and in the grand scheme of life one dance isnt going to determine much in your life...wear what you feel hot and comfortable in and forget the people aro;und you...good luck with your date!
