Dog eating cat food

Is it ok for my chihuahua to eat kitten chow? I feed him dog food but he keeps eating all his food and snacks on kitten food?

It probably won't hurt him
My cat (tries to) eat my dog's food sometimes and my dog eats my cats food

It won't hurt the dog if he's getting his own dinner, too (nutirtional differences make it not so good, if that's all he eats)...but gawd is it irritating!! Cat food is more expensive, and the portion size is kitty size...I had a 100 lb German Shepherd who couldn't resist cat food...finally had to put the cat food up in a place that only a cat could get to.

I feed the cats on a certain part of the counter and the dogs on the floor, but make sure that you let the cats know where they can and can't be on the counter. a spraybottle is effective for that part.

its o.k., I use to know a guy that loved certain dog treats. his mom took him to the doctor and asked the doc and said it would not hurt him.

It's not suppose to be good for them and it is suppose to give them the runs etc. But it is so hard to keep them out of it. But I would rather the dog get into the cat food than the Cat Box Snack tray

I have thge same issue...one of my dogs eat cat food too...I think its normal but other people don't...lol

it's completely normal! my wolf even eats my cat's food sometimes! haha lol

yea its fine, just make sure your dog is having enough dog food too! my lab eats my poor cats food all the time and we have to refill the dish constanty so my cat gets enough. I think they are pretty similar in ingredients, so I dont think it will hurt the dog.
