Only works in the short term.

Long term it causes changes in metabolic rate which seriously screws up weight control.

Yes water fasting really works but there are things you need to do. eat- even if its just a apple or so drink 2 full glasses of water then eat your food I cannot stress this enough. and also you will bloat for the first couple of weeks and then it'll go right away...remember eat!

Initially yes, but if you dont actually eat an appropriate amount of calories, your body will notice you are starving yourself. As soon as you begin eating normally again, you will put on weight more quickly.
In the short term you may lose some weight, but you might experience uncomfortable bloating from drinking so many liquids and some of the weight you lose may not all be fat. Since you are taking in less calories, you will probably participate in less physical activity since you dont have the energy for it, and some of the weight you lose will be in muscle.

It does initially but long term it ends up shrinking your stomach (in a bad way) so you are unable to eat as much as you could before. So what you would consider a normal meal could cause major weight gain. Your Metabolism slows down. Whatever weight is lost over the period of time is gained back instantly along with more of its heavy little friends. The effect of water fasting is exhaustion, light-headedness, headaches, and possible dizziness. Your body may feel weak. Water vasting is definetly not for everyone! I advise to not cease water vasting for over a one-day period. When you go back to eating after a fast your body replenishes itself with lots of food, a little too much. Your body will eat a huge amount because of you putting it in starvation mode.

On the other hand doing this once a year for a 24 hour period to cleanse your system isn't a bad idea. It helps to get rid of toxins and waste your body does not need. Certain religions do this and it can be very healthy.

If you are interested of cleansing your system you can do it WITHOUT FASTING. At any time during a day, as often as you like have a glass of water with a lemon wedge squeezed into it. Water and lemon are both cleansers them together can clean your system and you can still eat what you want while it does it!

Sorry if I wrote too much :P,

it depends on how much water you drink, if you drink a lot then no it wont help. Your body has a higher chance to starve itself though cause you need fiber, protien, and fat

Your body needs food to function properly.
