Does rollerblading help you lose weight?

:) Asked by merriemac 10 months ago, 8 answers.

Because I don't ever see how rollerblading and biking can help you lose weight...I thought it just helps your legs gets stronger or something.

Can you please tell me how you lose weight by doing these activities (if it really do help).

OH AND, I...

was wondering, what if I do excercise but don't break into sweats? Do you necessarily have to sweat in order to lose weight or as long as you're active it's okay?

any physical activity is good for you- when you are moving, you are burning calories, if you burn enough calories you are dipping into your stored energy reserve (fat) which results( in most cases ) in weight loss.

cardiovascular activities will help you lose weight. toning does what it says...toning. you do not lose weight/burn calories from such activity.
jogging, dancing, swimming are all good and aerobics is really good to!

For each pound of weight you want to lose, you will need to burn off approximately 3500 calories. According to a calorie chart published by Rollerblade, a 150 pound person skating 11 miles per hour burns about 10 calories per minute. This means a 150 pound person skating 11 miles per hour would have to skate 6 hours to lose 1 pound (3500 calories / 10 calories = 350 minutes. 350 minutes / 60 minutes per hour = 6 hours of skating)
