I am in the process of being diagnosed with bi-polar 2. For 6 months I've been on a medication for mood swings and its changed my life for the better. Go see your doctor and if need be he will refer you to a psychiatrist for diagnosis, but you will need to keep a diary of your feelings and actions. Its not something they can diagnose overnight. Do not self diagnose, see a professional.

Does not getting cyclothymia diagnosed matter?
I'm pretty sure I've got Cyclothymia - (the weaker version of Bi-polar syndrome), I can say this by refering to my daily life, my mood swings have been violent for over a year now- to the point where I'm literally jumping for joy, before instantly feeling suicidal, and after looking it up on the internet and taking several virtual tests, I believe I may have it.
But I'm just wondering if it matters if I get it diagnosed or not? I mean... Do people with Cyclothymia get medication like those who are Bi-polar? Or is it relatively harmless??
(And I also want to add- please no one say I should go to the Doctor no matter what I feel is wrong with me, I'm really not that feeble and pathetic.)
