Does it take a while to learn playing guitar?

I'm thinking about getting a guitar next month and I want to know is it difficult to learn playing guitar ? And will I have to spend a lot of time learning ?

yes electric guitar is harder if you dont have musical experience

Acoustic or Electric?.. if you are talented, then it will be easy to learn guitar.. Me I started to learn guitar 6 months ago, at first it was so difficult but as times goes, you will learn many techniques to improve guitar skills..

GOODLUCK! for me, electric is more easy to use(not much effort needed in strumming or plucking..)

I just started learning it, if you learn from tabs you can learn how to play songs in like a half hour. but I dont count that as learning how to play the guitar, if your dedicated to reading notes and learning chords, id give it a good three months to learn

It depends if you get a rubbish teacher. I played classical for a year and a half when I was in Primary School and the teacher was so slow and rubbish at his job that we only learnt three notes in that amount of time.

But practice makes perfect! Just try your best.

yes it is hard. I have had mine for 2 years and still dont know how to play it. you might want to learn the chords and how to play at a music shop before you buy it cause its just a waste of money
