think about all of the other singers in the world who ACTUALLY sing, and their vocal chords are fine.

It couldn't ruin her vocal chords, it's impossible unless she was screaming 24/7. Which she doesn't.

every singer that has a tv show or does music videos lip sync for the sound quality they record in a studio and then the sound people put it in. it has better quality but when you sing on tv or make music videos normally it sounds bad... not good quality. thats why it looks like she lip syncs but in her concert she doesn't. x] unless she has like a sore throat or something then she would lip sync with the music in the background.

In response to gonzosam-- thats not true. MANY young pop musicians lip sync-- especially if they're under the management of a major company such as Disney and Disney records. Hannah Montanna definately lip syncs in concert, but its not necessarily because she is incapable of singing live, or because she chose to lip sync-- it's simply what her representatives think is best for her. This goes for many singers.

Also, belindaleigh is right in saying that singing live does NOT ruin vocal chords. However, if a singer doesn't know how to sing /correctly/, then (s)he COULD hurt his/her vocal chords, and there are very few teenie boppers that know how to sing correctly for so long and for so many nights in a row-- it's a REAL workout.

I was not aware of this but when I returned from the Las Vegas concert I checked it out.

I must admit, I was disappointed that most of the songs were lip sync'd. You could certainly tell when she would open the mic and her voice would suddenly come on...it was very noticable.

Plus, the songs sounds JUST LIKE THE CD's. And if you have ever been to a concert you know that they don't sound the same as the CD.

As for the concert -- it was fun and the music is great. She changes clothes a bit much for my taste.

But, she's a good kid and I'd much rather have my daughter look up to her and listen to her music and watch her show than other to other young stars.

So she lip sync's at her concerts ... oh, well - we still love her and will remain loyal fans and wish for her continued success.

Ok, a) Hannah Montana (aka Miley Cyrus) doesn't lip sync, there is no way that her dad would let her b) the only way I could see her actually doing it is when she is sick but can't cancel a concert or something. Yes many young artists lip sync but Miley doesn't, she is very proud to be who she is and this way she doesn't let down her fans by lip syncing. A lot of people say that she lip syncs because of her performance of Nobody's Perfect, the thing is that when they turned on her mic, she ended up off beat, as well as on the CD she talks slower at one part than she did in her concert.

in her tour she in fact lip syncs when she is hanna, to prove this all you have to do is see the video of her when she is rushed off stage and replaced with a body double. yet the audio of her keeps going this could not be accomplished with out lip syncing. As for when she is miley as far as I can tell she is not lips syncing.
