Does god hate gays?

I really dont understand why the bible says that gay people are abominations. If God felt this way he wouldn't have made some people attracted to the same sex. It was not God who wrote the bible, he just gave the message and men wrote it. Humans are natrually evil so these men could have put their own words in the bible as well. Do you think God hates gays?

I. Although homosexuality has in these last days become more and more acceptable to society, it is nonetheless evil and wicked in the sight of God.

I. When God created man and woman He intended that there remain a respect within His people for the distinction He had made between the two sexes.

Deuteronomy 22:5

A. Homosexuality became widely practiced in Old Testament times.

Genesis 19:5-11

Judges 19:22
(The Hebrew word here translated 'know' literally means 'to have intercourse or relations with.' It is the same word used in Genesis 4:1, in which it is recorded that 'Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain ...' It is also used in the same sense in Genesis 24:16; 1 Samuel 1:19b; and Luke 1:34.)

B. It was still common during the time of the first century church.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

C. Scripture even indicates that, in the end times, the homosexual way of life will become openly practiced and generally accepted by society as a whole.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

III. How serious an offense is it?

A. Under the Law, the act was considered 'worthy of death.'

Leviticus 20:13
Romans 1:27, 32

B. Scripture clearly says those guilty of this transgression are unfit to inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9
1 Timothy 1:10

I've. It is an abomination to God.

A. The sin is self-defiling.

Leviticus 18:22, 24

B. It is unnatural (Romans 1:27, 31; 2 Timothy 3:3), and to accept or encourage this way of life is 'contrary to sound doctrine' (1 Timothy 1:10).

C. God abhors it!

Leviticus 20:13, 23

D. Believers are expected to 'put aside' such evil practices of their former way of life.

1 Corinthians 6:9, 11
('... and such were (p.t.) some of you ...')

E. Because they refused to abandon their wicked ways 'God gave them up.' (They became reprobate.)

Romans 1:24, 26-32
Ephesians 4:17-19

V. It is possible to be set free from the bondage of this offense. The sin is not unforgivable.

1 Corinthians 6:11, 9-10

According to the Bible, God hates sin - any and all sin - likewise a Christian is to hate the sin but love the person - ANY person who accepts the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior, in their lifetime (recieve salvation and turn from their sin) is Heaven-bound !! - every person has that choice...Hope this helps !!

Is it a sin to be born GAY? I don't think people choose to be GAY...so maybe GOD hates itself for making them GAY in the first place!!! I knew a guy in prep school that was sooo gay, but at that age I doubt he woke up one day and decided to be gay, he just was!!! I felt sorry for him because he was ridiculed every day, so does GOD agree with the ridiculers? Should we cast these people out because of how they are? Religion has some double standards. I'm sure if GAYS are GODS children, he loves them no matter how they are.

God shouldn't hate gays.
If a man would rather have a relationship with a man, and is happy, god should also be happy.

I support gays, lesbians and people who are different and happy, it takes a lot of pressure to do something like that and still be happy, to ignore all the taunts and be happy with a soul mate, who may or may not be of the same gender.

I disagree. Being gay is not like being retarded. Although some people are born with natural feelings for the same sex, they have a choice. Retardation is not something that you can choose to stop.

And in answer to the original question, no, God does not hate gays. There is no person in the world whom God hates. He loves everyone ever born, because we are all his children. Wrong choices we make cause Him deep greef, but He loves everyone the same.

Are you kidding me? You people are morons. Do you think homosexuals just wake up one day and say to themselves, 'well hmm...I think I want to be gay from now on...I want to be discriminated against, outcasted by my parents, told im going to hell, etc' righttt. Im sure thats it. If you're not gay, then you obviosuly dont understand. Ask any homosexual and I highly doubt that they'll tell you they CHOSE to be gay.

And If you think that this is a sin, your even more of a moron. Who do you think you are judging other people? Why not judge yourself once in a while? The last time I checked, people whose choice is to be gay, didnt affect anyone else did it? Get a life. seriously. Its because of people like you that our country is so messed up. And I think we all know who im talking about.

oh and your Mormon? I guess I rest my case. Does no one know about the massacre that happened in the 1800's when Mormons killed settlers just passing though. Lets do some research where Joe Smith apparently 'knew nothing' about what happened. Shall I say more? Do I need to embarrass YOUR side of the spectrum a little bit? If you're so worried about sin, I would focus on the sin that takes place in your OWN sector before you try and voice your opinion in other places.

God does not hate anyone, but, he does hate sin, and the bible is clear on this subject, homosexuality is a sin. I do not believe that anyone is born with this tendency, I believe it is inflicted upon them, mostly while they are young, they have been intervened with, causing this tendency, or if it is passed thru the genes, I believe it can still be dealt with. God can deliver us from anything that we turn to him about, that is his business, and it is his law that we live by, the ones that love him, that is, because his kingdom is not of this world. There are multitudes now, in the valley of decision, being drawn into this lifestyle, thru the power of the spirit, and this is not the Holy Spirit that I am speaking of. Satan is real, just as God is real, and he is having a hey day, with a whole generation of young innocent vulnerable young people that think it is cool to be this way, and there are multitudes of cheer leaders, cheering them on, from every side line. Declaring that there is no God, and if there is one then he would have to think the same as they do. This is a lie that Satan is planting in each mind, so that he can control their actions. If you read this please know that God gave the bible as a book of instruction, and it says that this is a sin, and needs to be repented of, turned from , delivered from. So, if you persist in believeing this is ok, then, know for a surety that according to the bible it is not ok. You can be free, you do not have to obey this 'feeling'. God would not have given a command, if it was not possible to follow it.

Yeah, oh well...some people just don't want to understand. I'm sure if a gay guy could just choose to like women he would, as there are lots of beautiful loving women out there, but it obviously isn't that easy...otherwise they would. It's not like giving up an addiction like cigarettes I think it's a bit deeper than that. But what would I know, I'm just a straight guy...what I do know is that there have been tests done on gay guys, and there's differences within their brains make-up that causes them to have these emotions...kind of like being a women in a mans body. I guess if they read the bible, that'll fix it.

Despite what is written by us mere humans in a book some 2000 years old, as long as these people love each other...I think that's all 'GOD' really cares about. Considering all the religious based wars that have occurred in 'GOD'S' name over the last 2000 years...it's the least of 'GOD'S' problems. Religion breeds more hate throughout the world than anything else on the planet...I'm sick to death of all these quotes.

Sexuality is a gift of pleasure and communication between to persons at a deeper level. Some people confuse it with reproduction. God made that reproduction uses the power given by sexuality for making it attractive, otherwise people would not reproduce, but one is not the other.

There is nothing wrong with sexuality and attraction between any gender or in any way, it is not necessary that are opposite sex, it is not for reproduction. Sexuality is just a feeling, an emotion a way of sharing and it can happen between any individuals of any gender.

God makes no differences between genders, all are the same, after all we are made at his image and God has no gender.

I am not trying to dis on gays, but I have known people who have been straight for the first few decades of their lives and then become gay/lesbian. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that I know all about it! I'm just placing my opinion based on my limited knowledge, just like you.

So gay people are arrogant, ignorant & spitting in God's face? Sounds like you are judgemental, hypocritical & homophobic. These aren't very nice qualities. I'm sure many gay people (including all the gay priests around the world) pray for guidance from their God's. It is a fact that gay people have been 'made' the way they are, believe it or not...and I'm sure if the bible was updated, since it's made from many books from different stages in time as it is, your biased opinions would be corrected. It may be 'the word of god'...BUT!!! It is also as that word was percieved by HUMANS, who unfortunately have a funny way of writings things how they want them. Nothing in that bible was written by a GOD. You need to become more tolerant of your fellow humans, and DO UNTO OTHERS, etc.etc...or maybe you will be standing at the gates of heaven having to apologise for being so narrow minded in your approach to millions of GODS children.

However, it would apply to ANY sinner, of which we ALL are - just some have had their sins forgiven - never more to be remembered, through Salvation - the price Jesus paid on the cross - totally your choice to accept or reject Him.

wait wait wait...I give amblessed credit...because although his opinions are obviously shown, I think they are the most validated and open-minded on this site for this particular topic. If we're talking about 'arrogance, ignorance, and spitting in god's face', then people who judge homosexuals and the priests who engage in the same actions are the ones who possess those qualities. No one has the right to judge anyone. And for that, I apologize criticizing other perspectives. However, let's leave the judgements up to god if SHE even exists...shall we? k thanks

Furthermore, the bible I believe, is not to be taken literally. People speak of Adam and Eve as if it is a literal story when really, NO ONE knows if they even existed. So is it true just because some MEN wrote it down? MEN who also wrote that EVE was the one to tempt adam into eating the apple? RIGHT! because that makes sense! Even if it WAS literal, how do we know that ADAM wasnt the one to tempt Eve? WE DONT! It's obviously easier to believe written words from people we havnt even met then actually come up with our OWN perspectives...isnt it. Thats why WOMEN are seen as the inferior type even to this day...because men in that day made it a point to make women the inferior gender. and IM supposed to take the rest of the bible seriously? you couldnt pay me!

the end.

Everyone has a choice...well I try to imagine if everyone on earth was gay with the exception of a group of heteros that are going against the grain. If I knew God wanted me to be gay but I had feelings for men the way I do...I'd have to do what came naturally b/c I couldn't just change the way I feel just like an old friend of mine who was gay and we grew up in church together couldn't. Everytime he would come down from Atlanta to church the sermon just happened to include homosexuality. Trust me...they(gays) don't choose their preferences...they just are. Just like we are. My church obviously says that this is a sin and I don't disagree but at the same time so are a lot of others things that most of us do everyday. Judging, cursing, white lies, envy, greed..come on now. We all do things. Is one worse than the other? Maybe...maybe not..they're all forgivable. In the same way that most heteros are law abiding tax paying citizens...so are gays. Doctors, lawyers, celebs etc. As Americans while we enjoy all of our freedoms we have to accept along with that that we can do what we want within the rights of the law. Gays aren't violating the law... they're violating some people's religeous beliefs... but there is a clear seperation. And back to the subject...If you notice there is a difference between the old and new testaments and the ferocity of the old testament and the calm forgiving nature of the second. We still have the second test. God who loves us and offers forgiveness no matter what we do. I think in return the least we could do is honor his wishes and treat other 'children of God' the same.

Being gay...I sure hope not. I never chose to be gay, so I believe God loves me for the way he created me. The bible in its original Aramaic and Hebrew texts doesn't actually denounce homosexuality as a sin; it denounces men who sleep with men for the requirements of a Pagan ritual. The goals of these versus are to denounce Paganism, not homosexuality. The bible does say we are to love our neighbors...even if they're sinners, because we are all sinners and to God, all sin is the same. So if God hates gay people, then he must also hate liers, adulterers, and those with too much pride (snobs).
