Does anybody like Fireflies by Owl City? If so why and what do you think its about??

--- The fireflies are a metaphor for one good thing or multiple good things in his life right now. By falling asleep he means he didn't even see the good things. He was oblivious to them.

'Cause they'd fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You'd think me rude
But I would just stand and stare
--- He suddenly realizes what is right in front of him and the teardrops/fireflies comparison is a beautiful and bizarre thing, one of those rare moments in life where he just has to watch.

I'd like to make myself believe
That planet Earth turns slowly
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay
Awake when I'm asleep
'Cause everything is never as it seems
--- Saying the Earth turns slowly means he wants time to go by slower, so he has longer to watch the fireflies and the world slows down with him, for he is just standing and watching in a calm silence.

As they tried to teach me how to dance
--- The good things (fireflies) would teach him how to dance through life and live it better.

A foxtrot above my head

--- Examples of what he'd do in life. It's more just part of the song and has less meaning.
