Do you need 2 have white things on your tonsils 2 have tonsilitis?

I have swollen tonsils and it hurts 2 swallow, but I have no white things. Is it still a possibility that I have tonsilitis? 4 tonsilits, is it true that they take them out?

If you have consistent infections, yes. But it's not a horrible thing. I've been less sick since I got my tonsils out.

It could be strep throat,
It hurts and tonsils swell,
but there are sometimes small white spots on it.
they arent very noticeable though.

I get swollen glands a lot it hurts to swollow and eat, last time I had swollow glands it turned into tonsilitus after 3-5 days I dont always get tonsilitus but keep checkin your throat just incase th white appers, just drink plenty of fluids
