but homophobia is not about ignorance in every case. people have so many different reasons as to why they dont like gays. I dont agree with being gay/lesbian/bisexual

Thumbs up to jaredboom...I think fear is the number one motivater behind anger and hate...not understanding what is in front of us creates fear...and in many, that fear quells curiosity to learning about it...ergo, ignorance. Fear and ignorance pretty much go hand in hand, but fear always predicates ignorance. 'Learning' about what we don't know, doesn't take active participation...being black, being gay aren't 'choices'...if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck...in this case, we're talking human beings...and no human being can flourish being the object of irrational fear.

They were either repressed homosexuals, or they're just confused. Abusive parents can often cause that...

I agree people are way to ignorant now and they don't understand the stand points of homosexuals. It's because people don't realize when your gay you can't just stop being gay it does not work like that you can't choose not to be gay it's like choosing not to be straight. I have so many gay friends who are not accepted by todays society and it's sad because they are human beings and the way some people treat them is like animals

my mate came out just under a yr ago and evry1 has accepted it, I dont think you are born gay, but I think its somethin you realise quite young, circumstances when your young effect evrything you do and feel, I was raised mostly by my dad, he made sure we knew as much as possible bout everything, I think ignorance plays a big part, if chilren learnt bout it it wouldnt b half as bad

Concern
Disappointment

Two different questions there, so some apply to one more than the other.

Often, those people so quick to chastise and categorize people because of their perceived differences, fail to notice the quality exhibited from themselves. I'm speaking to those among us that dismiss people for a certain shortcoming rather than accepting the humanity within us all. You can judge for yourselves...some seem to be good at that.
