I assume you mean extraterrestrials rather than human visitors from other countries.

Hard to say. The universe is a huge place. It seems hard to believe that in a cosmos as huge as our own that we are the only planet to sprout life.

The vast distances between stars make it unlikely that we have ever been visited though.

If and when we have confirmation of intelligent extraterrestrial life it will probably be in the form of radio emissions.

Right now I Love Lucy shows are reaching a star 60 light years away that happens to be about the same size and age as our Sun and that we know has a planet similar to Jupiter orbiting it. That system may have an earthlike planet with aliens wondering the same thing we are. If they are pointing a big antenna at our solar system they may already know what humans look and sound like (albeit without color yet). The stars on the other side of our own galaxy are about 100,000 light years away so mankind my be extinct before our signals reach them. Amdromeda is the nearest galaxy to our own and 2 million light years away. The most distant known object in the cosmos is 16.9 billion light years away.

NO, scientists have researched and found no proof that any life exists on any other planet than earth. Although, they have found water on some planets. I am not sure which one it was on though...sorry, if you wanted them to exist...hehehappy

I believe there are living organisms out in space, but does not mean they actually exist as we perceive. I think the weird things happening in our country or other countries are a government conspiracy of hidden training and secrets that can be hazardous to our health that they are testing and keeping away from us. The nuclear, or new equipment or whatever is secretly costing us money and maybe mutations in our DNA that is causing cancer and other problems. The government is dirty and someone is going to uncover one day.

Yes. I believe there has to something out there somewhere. I can't accept that we are the only life forms in the universe. There is plenty of evidence to support claims that aliens exist, and plenty of evidence to support that they don't. It's something we may never know for sure, so it's up to everyone to believe what they want until it's proven.

They can't... and why would you expect them to? Currently, the existence/nonexistence of aliens is just as provable/unprovable as the existence/nonexistence of god(s).

It's pretty likely. Consider the fact that Earth is ~4.5 billion years old and life originated about 3.5 billion years ago. That means that as soon as Earth was ready to support life, life began (soon being in geological terms). Now consider how many Earth like planets there might be out in the entire universe. Probably something like 10 trillion. That's around the same number as all the grains of sand on all the beaches on Earth. What percent of those planets are Earth like? We can only estimate currently but even if only 0.00000001% of them are Earth-like, that means there are a million planets in the universe with life. These are just random guesses. The people at SETI have come up with there being about 6 planets with life in our galaxy. How many of those planets have intelligent life? Who knows. We've currently only discovered about 500 exoplanets (planets outside our galaxy). None of which are Earth-like. Most of them are like Jupiter (Jupiters are huge and easy to find).

I guess my opinionated answer to your question is yes, there is life out there. A lot of it.

There is absolutely no evidence at all to say that aliens do not exist, we live in one galaxy which is one of millions in the universe. We haven't even explored the whole of our galaxy beside the whole of our universe, which is always growing. So how can anyone say that whole univers there is no other life. For all we know there could life in our own galaxy...

What does that have to do with 'aliens' existing or not existing?

Answered by blondewig on Jul 11, 2009, 06:51AM

c'mon aliens have got to exist. I mean who knows how many other planets and galaxies there are in the universe. if there were aliens then they would be asking the same questions about weather we exist or not. there is no way to tell for sure except until an alien shows up on Earth. like thats ever going to happen!!!
