Die on your feet or live on your knees?

A mexican revolutionist emiliano zapata stated this quote. 'it is better to die on your feet than live on your knees.' what would you choose, a sure life until your 80 under oppression and tyrany, or an almost certain death for a just cause. just curious to see how many people would fight when death is almost certain
