Did god create humans?

Asked by fau 2 months ago, 24 answers.

When people say God created humans what does that mean? Did he create all humans or just the first humans?

According to the account in Genesis, God created Adam from the dirt and Eve from Adams rib.

According to those who don't live in fantasy land, humans evolved from hominids.

Creation of all humans, from our first evolutionary stages onwards, is what I believe. He is the Lord of Creation. That means He had the idea for everything that has ever existed, but also that He oversees the ongoing creation of individual humans too:

'For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.'

That's from Psalm 139. I think it shows God's involvement in each human creation.

depends who you ask and what you believe in
basically, theres no proof of 'God' and no proof of evolution
don't ask anyone, humans ourselves don't know
you'll only end up with a biased answer

That account and answers can be found in the Bible, which is the word of God - a person chooses to either accept or reject it's truth...Take care !!

Uhhmmm... Sorry, but there is overwhelming proof of evolution. There is zero proof of god.

yeah, well if theres so much proof, then why can't everyone accept it?
I am a darwinist, hes amazing
but this question doesn't have an exact correct answer
even evolution is a theory, as is the concept of god

Thunder Robot Answered by funadvice on May 16, 2008, 11:47AM

'yeah, well if theres so much proof, then why can't everyone accept it? '

For the same reason not everyone accepted Copernicus' theory that the sun, not the earth, is at the center of the solar system. It challenged a very old religious belief that was supported by literal interpretation of the Bible. Darwin's theories did the same thing, which is why many people still don't accept them even though we've learned much more about natural selection since his time.

mjax said it perfectly. Acceptence is not indicitive of accuracy.

The only people that deny evolution are the people who can't face that what they have been taught by their religions may not be exactly true. Either that, or they are pandering to the religious right.

Thunder Robot Answered by funadvice on May 16, 2008, 02:04PM

well then theres no definite answer
I never said any of these are absolutely wrong
im just saying whoever asked will not get a straight answer
there are several answers that people could say
its about beliefs basically, not fact
maybe evolution and god are both wrong answers
nobody knows %100 sure
but I do have to say, I think evolution is more correct due to the enourmous amount of findings and study thats been conducted on the theory

all some of you guys are mostly right god is real in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth especially

God has created everything, the heavens and the earth, all of the animals. He created Adam and Eve, which means he created all of us, because we are all connected to them!

*** 'evolution is a theory, as is the concept of god'

The concept of god is not a theory, it's a concept. The god proposition is also not a theory, it's a speculation.

Thunder Robot Answered by funadvice on May 17, 2008, 09:39AM

theory- a proposed explanation whose status is still conjectural, in contrast to well-established propositions that are regarded as reporting matters of actual fact.

sounds like it to me

oh well, im getting a little tired going back and forth on this, no offense
but I guess everyone has their views and its not going to change because of an internet debate
you all made some good points, but I still stick with my first answer
peace

foxxy18146 if evolution had no evidence it wouldn't be a theory, it would be a hypothesis. Where it is a theory is how it's explained. You said you were a Dawrinists, there has been tons of research and discoveries put into evolution theory since his time.
The concept of God is not a theory, it's mythology. But if you want to take it seriously it is a hypothesis that should be analyzed as skeptically as any other. And the creation account is one that has NO evidence at all in favour of it.
There's ideas in science that hinges on logical thought, but evolution is not one of them because of the knowledge we have of it.

Well the first humans were H*mo habilis` and they evolved from other creatures.
But when people say that 'God created everyone' and I guess they mean you were created before you were born? I don't get the point..

'Sorry, but there is overwhelming proof of evolution. There is zero proof of god.'

Why does it have to be this same old crap? Why does it have to be evolution OR God? hmm? I'm sick of that nonsense. It's perfectly possible to believe in evolution AND God. Everything has a small amount of DNA in common. Who's to say that's not proof of God? That means EVERYTHING came from the same thing, far enough back. Why can't that thing be God, creating things? And as for how things evolved, who's to say God didn't set the ball rolling, the same as the big bang theory? If you believe that it has to be one or the other, science OR God, you're exceedingly narrowminded.
