Why does everything think that cutting takes a therapist to get ove

ok why does everything think that cutting takes a therapist to get over? I havent cut in 5 months. im addicted but I dont do it so why do people keep telling me I need counseling

The therapy isn't necessarily to make you stop - you can do that on your own...the therapy is to get to the root of the problem - the reason why you're doing it.

It's what they think but they never been to counseling. Personally if you look at my profile and see what my life has been like, you would think I need couseling. Well, I think I don't. I have been through all those things and counseling did not help at all. All couseling does is say your problems and they just write it down and thats it. I've been a lot better then being in stupid counseling.

Because counseling helps you get to the root of the problem. And I'm sorry if you've had bad counseling experience. But a person can only be helped if they allow someone to help them. If you've got a bad attitude, no one on earth can help you. As for 'its what they think but they never been to counseling', maybe they have and they had a positive experience. And everyone on earth probably needs counseling at some point in time. Even if it is just a matter of personal growth.
