how would i go about going on the pill?

How would I go about going on the pill?? I'm in Australia and I am 17...

it needs to be prescribed to you by a doctor
because there are quite a few different kinds of the pill
so he/she needs to give you one that’s right for you
you can either go to the doctors and schedule an appointment by yourself
having a Medicare card would be good if your going to do this
or ask your mum or dad to come to the doctors with you so you can get it
then go to the pharmacy and get the one they prescribed to you
were either you or your parents can pay for it
remember to ask lots of questions about it
like what side effects it has
if you can skip the sugar pills and miss your period that month or if your pill doesnt allow that
ect
and remember to tell them if you smoke or not
as people who smoke shouldnbt be on the pill
also if your already pregnant you cant take it

im pretty sure 16 is the age you can go on it without your rents knowing. so if thats what your concerned about, then yeah youre 17 so you can go on by yourself, with no parental permission. just talk to a doctor.
