It all depends. If you don't feel comfortable telling them, then you don't have to. But if you feel like your keeping something from them, its best to tell them so you don't have to constantly think about it all the time.

One reason I scared they might not like him
And its okay not to tell them I mean seriously
Once it get serious than you should
But they find out anyways usually
