Buy him a skateboard.

Get him a band t shirt or a kool skater brand one like volcom or krew or a hat mayby cologne a wallet movie tickets or concert tickets

considering his age, and if he's really cool. I think a good gift that he'll remember, but not expect. the first 2 volumes of the old school FOX X-men cartoon recently came out on dvd. a lot of guys around his age were huge fans of that when they were younger. someone recently surprised me with it, and I love it!

if it's somethin' he's definitely not into, have a girl friend take some seductive pics of you and make him a homemade calendar. believe me...he'll remember that birthday gift.

I don't believe she said she is his girlfriend, only a friend. So I wouldn't do that...lol.

a lot of people don't bother with cards these days. Make him a big handmade card and get a lot of his friends to write messages in it, like each person write 1 memory they have with him or a reason why he is a good friend. Then buy him a nice cologne like Diesel 'Fuel for Life' which comes in a funky bottle - I bought that for my boyfriend and he LOVES it.

here's a really unique gift.
go to an old record store and get a record (doesent matter the band, but preferably something not so lame) and, long story short, you can actually heat the record up and mold it into anything you want, best example would be to melt it into a bowl, they look really great and they dont cost much. here's a link with instructions how to make it, plus, you can make it in 20 minutes or less.
