9 mnth old has been constipated for about 3 wks now

My 9 mnth old has been constipated for about 3 wks now. I tried everything the dr has recommended with no results. I've even tried some family recommendations with no results. I've tried water, prune juice, karo syrup in his milk. Any advice?

when my four yr old son was the same age I used to put vasaline around his bottom and at the bottom of his bottom if that makes ani sence then wait a bit and if he still hasnt dne anithin lie him on his back and put his legs to his chest and wait it will soon come out

try giving baby food prunes

Try putting more fiber into his milk. Have you tried any fiber nurtient? They sell this dissolving fiber for water...such as FiberWater and any kind of drinkable fiber. You might have to go to an organic shop or special order to find them.

Have you tried the old BRAT diet? It always worked on mine.

Bananas
Rice
Apple/Applesauce
Toast

Have you changed his formula lately?
The extra Iron might be causing the constipation.
Or the baby rice/oatmeal.
Try getting some multi grain crackers.
They will help a lot.
My son eats them everyday and he has no problems at all. He is also a nine month old.
You might consider changing his diet a little bit.

try grandmaws molases put a tablespoon in everyother bottle it always helped my oldest

Well when my baby was constipated I put warm water in his bottle and gave him a banana with some oat meal it seemed to work really well. Lots of grapes too .

I had a friend who's son was constipated a lot from bein young only to discover theat he was lactose intollerant, she cut out all diary products for a few weeks and noticed an improvement that was a few years ago she weaned him slowely back onto small amounts after that and is fine now. hope this helps

try castor oil

its a liquid laxitive but make sure you give less than a teaspoon

have your tried apple juice? if your child stays constipated for a long period of time.. I know you dont want to hear this but they will have to do surgery to get the poop out.. when you give your child prune juice it should be the lil gerber juice that you would do 4 oz of juice and 4 oz of water.. just let your baby drink that but do not dalute it with anything same goes with the apple juice. also if you give a child to much water it can fulsh there kidneys and cause them to have seizures... not really some of the things you would like to hear but I figure I would just let you you know good luck tho I hope everything works out for you... I just read that demikarayray said lots of grapes.. maybe if you mash them up or you can give your baby white grape juice but not whole graps a child that was 3 years old that lives near me choked and died on what so please no whole grapes... good luck
