Conjoined twins

Do you think that if you had conjoined twins that they should get sperated at birth or wait ?

I think they should be seperated at birth, definately. It would be less painfull and when they get older they wont remember a thing :D

I watched this film where two conjoined twins was seperated at age 3 and one died of a weak heart , it was a very sad film.
has anyone had conjoined twins before ?

I think.. they should be seperated as soon as it's safe to perform the operation.

If you are going to separate, I imagine the younger the better - younger bodies heal more rapidly - of course many other factors would have to be considered that would effect the timetable.

No not every conjoined set of twins has one weak heart. It depends on how their body is built. For some conjoined twins, it is impossible to be seperated because they share vital organs. (For example, there could be only one liver that BOTH twins use, or even one heart). Sometimes conjoined twins are easy to seperate, because they dont share a lot. Sometimes the parents have to make a choice of saving one and letting one go. Its a sad thing, and I am sure any parent who has conjoined twins goes through a lot.

yh it must be really hard for parents as its tthe choice of risking a child die or both, I dont think I could deciide as I wouldnt stop crying as its the most hardest thing ever.

It obviously depends on what is best for the children... If possible as early as possible, but honestly if they can't seperate them early on then they probably can't seperate them later either...

I would say at birth but it matters on where they are conected really and are what they are sharing as well
