How can I tell my boyfriend I want to get married?

I have been wuth my boyfriend for 4 years and we are about to have a baby how do I tell him that I want to get married?!!

1st of all, even though you love him, don't get married because you are pregnant. Divorce rate is so high, you should get married because both of you love each other to the point that you both want to get married. I understand you wanting to get married, morally its the right thing to do since you are pregnant..and who knows, its probably already on his mind, he just hasn't got the ring yet or waiting for you birthday or something.

speaking from experience: actually my husband proposed and we set the date 13 months down the road. 5 months after he proposed I got pregnant so then we upped the date and got married and bought a house. Problem problems..marriage is a big deal, so we had that to deal with plus raising a kid which is stress all on its own.

my advice: have the child out of wedlock and deal with that issue first, then a year later when's he's ready-(and I'm only assuming he's not because he hasnt asked you) go for it. I know this may be hard-trust me, I was NOT going to have a child out of wedlock..and my husband and I were together for 4.5 years dating too..just like you. We should have waited.

And who knows, your man may be mature enough and good enough to handle it..MINE wasn't. but if you still want to tell him you want to get married, just let him know that you are not confortable with the idea of having a child out of wedlock and ask him how does he feel about that. That will start the conversation and I'm sure a lot will come in your mind to talk about after the intial start. hopes this helps!
