Q: computer problem, possibly the video card?

lately my computer has been turning off, though it didn't start out this way. my computer would suddenly freeze if I had too many programs running and the screen would fade to black or white. now it does that randomly and I have to turn it off and on again. could anyone pinpoint where the problem could possibly be? is this something that would happen if the video card was malfunctioning? how much is a video card and where/how can I install it?

I can't even call dell for customer support because they charge me a ridiculous amount of money per minute just to tell me things I already know...

A: Freezing is usually caused by insufficient RAM, and to fix that, you either need to install more RAM or use less programs at a time. As for the screen, that sounds like a video card problem, but I have to tell you honestly, if you don't know what the problem really is, you'd be better off taking the computer in to a professional for repair.
