Comparing other men to my x

I am really trying to get out there and meet other men, I had a very hard time getting over my x. Now that I am sort of dating, I can't help it but compare my x to them, even though most of them are really good people, no one has the money or ability...

to give my daughter and I the life we were use to when I was with my x.I know I left him and it was for the best because in other ways he treated me very bad.Now I have a guy who really likes me but he has no money, even though he cares for me so much and is good to my daughter and I.I wouldn't be able to do any of the things I really want to do if I did decide to commit to him.I'm not sure what to do???

Why do you want to commit to him?

well i have never gone through this but here it goes. let your self be uncommited for a while find a job and go back to school. if you have a mom that will take care of ur daghter while ur out or maybe a friend you can, keep dating this guy bu dont form commitment intul u r sure is the right thing and ur and he's ready.

Here's the thing, I realize that money is a HUGE part of our world today so i cannot call you shallow. That aside though if you have found a man who treats you right and is good with your daughter you have found a diamond in the rough. I know a lot of men that would have a LOT of problems being with a woman who has a child from a past relationship and even those that wouldn't have a problem would probably have a lot of issues having a good relationship with your daughter. My advice, money should only be a side note, there are plenty of options available to you to stretch your money and still be perfectly happy even though you might not have the biggest house or newest car. You will only be truly happy with somebody that treats you and your daughter right, not somebody who simply pays the bills.

It is hard not comparing new guys to your ex, we do it without even realising sometimes. You just need to work out what you want out of the next relationship, its really hard not to want your guy to have money since you have a daughter and have to think about her well being also. But you need to work it out and let this guy know so you dont lead him on. theres nothing wrong with having standards when it comes to picking a guy to commit to, and your standards are realistic becos you have to think about your daughter as well,.
