How well do a chihuahua & a beagle get along?

They should get along as well as any two dogs...You have to be the "leader"...it's also your job to protect either one (who ever is less dominant) from the other, and show your leader-like "disapproval" of any bullying. The Chi could easily rule the roost...the "bigger" dog isn't necessarily the dominant one. The best way to make sure they get along, is YOU be the dominant leader. Remember...calm and assertive...that's your new mantra.

Both of those breeds have friendly temperments and should get along very well.

I'm sure they'll get along fine, just be careful on walks... if your Chihuahua is the head honcho at home, he's going to want to be the same on walks... and Beagles are scent hounds, always following their noses, so the Beagle is going to want to be up front leading the way, and the Chihuahua may not like that. I'm sure things will be fine, just don't let one get too dominant.
