The treaty of Versailles was written at the end of ww1 to prevent another world war. Unfortunatley it left a big chunk of Europe (Germany especially) with too many bills and no cash. Germany fell into a major depression and because of that the people were willing to listen to anything. That allowed Adolf Hitler to come to power. One of Hitlers biggest pushes was for more land for Germans (and of course hatred of the Jews) that got German people riled up to invade Poland. Germany was allowed to do this if they promised not to invade anymore. Obviously that didnt work. Consequently you had some pretty angry people and some pretty greedy Germans. Thus leading into WW2

Hope thats what you were looking for.
