Our older cat used to do that. 1st of all bring her to the vet and rule out any health issues like a bladder infection...does she poop on the floor too? usually if they do both its behavioral...give your Vet a call and talk to them about it...they will ask you more specific questions...since it is so recent, has there been any changes in the home, for example, a new pet? Our cat started to do that when we got dixie, our 1st pug as a puppy...cats also hate dirty liter boxes...but since this is so new, that may not be the issue...give your Vet a call

Cat urine on things left on floor
My cat Maggie seems to pee on things that are out of place. For example, if we leave a gym bag or coat on the floor she will pee on it. This doesn't happen all of the time.
how can we correct her from peeing on the things that are left on the floor...and...
Why does she do this only when something is left on the floor...Yes this just started about 3 months ago...
