Cat nip

looking' good with my rose!! Asked by lifeoftheparty20 about 1 year ago, 4 answers.

I bought a cat nip pillow for my cat a few years back. We take it away from him every so often, just because it's getting a little dirty. This is his favorite toy! If we dampen the pillow a little to try to clean it, will the cat nip lose it's smell or will it be okay?

simple open the pillow/take out old cat nip/and go to dollar store and get you a small bag of cat nip/ wash pillow/dry it in dryer/add new cat nip/sew up side/ give back to kitty

If you just buy a new toy and replace the ole one, I feel sure your cat won't know the difference. At least buy a new one and see if the cat will play with the new one. Then you can feel happy about throwing away the old one.

A concern I would have with wetting it is that the catnip would probably not only lose it's smell, but it could also grow mold, which isn't too yummy.

I'd either buy your kitty a new toy once it gets too dingy, or open it up and replace the catnip (it's quite cheap).

Good luck!

Another thing you could do is vacuum the toy. Not only does it help remove dust and hair, it helps bring out the catnip smell inside the middle of the toy. I do that with my kitties catnip toys and they love it just like new
