Suggestions for my elderly mother who cannot sleep?

My elderly (76 yr. old) mother cannot sleep. This has been going on for a couple months. It is effecting her health. Does anyone have any suggestions that work?

Is she taking any pills for it?

 
Melatonin. A natural product of the body. It is available in health food stores and most places that sell vitamins.

Well it may be sleep paralysis, which is keeping her from sleeping, but I have sleep paralysis but I can sleep so I suggest you and your mom to see a health doctor to figure it out or maybe I can look it up to see what it is.
