Can't insert a tampon!!

I go swimming a lot now, but I always have to skip classes because of my period! I've been trying to use a tampon, but it just won't go in!!! I'm a virgin so that's probably why it won't go in but I REALLY need to go swimming classes but every time I try...

to stick a tampon in it hurts badly!!! What can I do?

Virgins should still be able to use tampons, so that's unlikely the cause.

However, you could have a septate hymen which would cause this kind of problem. Unfortunately the only remedy is a minor surgery to remove it. You would need to discuss this with your doctor.

Look it up on the internet and watch a video. talk to your mom about it(my mom incisted on showing me how to use one and it wasn't that bad) or talk to your doctor about it, you might have a serious problem and need medical attention.

unfortunatley I had the same problem. im a virgin to and I found it painful to insert a tampon. I suggest you just try different sizes until you find one perfect for you. good luck girl!

yea ofcourse it will hurt a virgin bc thats the spot where the guys do there buisness haha and stuff but a tampon or any object thats small enough to fit in there can break teh hymen... soo it mite be somethings wrong.. just tell someone about the sooner teh better,, dont post pone it... well good luck

Have your mom or your older sister if you have one show you or help you! The first couple of times it does hurt, but you have to keep trying. Sometimes the boxes of tampons bring intructions. Try reading those.

ok im a virgin to and im just fine.
its really easy if you put one leg on the toilet and try that way. it might not go if your not in the right position so try that. they also give you one it every box so check that out.

I had this same problem for a while, but then I got the hang of it. my secret? I was trying to insert the tampon too far towards the front, and too straight up. I learned that my vaginal opening was actually located a lot farther to the back, and it tilts a lot towards my back. Yours might be either farther forward, or farther backward than what you are trying. so try different places along yourself and different angles, and in one place it should just kind of slip in.
