Ones you use online like promotional codes are pretty trustworthy. Also, those money mailer coupons are pretty safe - Google maps integrated those ones recently into their product, as I understand it, so you can find & print coupons for stores near you.

It helps if you know who the retailer is before you try to use the coupons. You also want to make sure that any discounts advertised (i.e. ATT Uverse coupon codes or isp promotional codes) are from a reliable source. You may also want to verify that they will actually work on the official site before you make a purchase.
