Can I dye my hair extensions?

Can I dye my hair extensions? I just had them put in a few days ago, and my mom wants me to dye them... is it safe? it's European hair, not synthetic. Help~

it really depends what kind you have. it's safe to perm, dye, and relax hair extensions ONLY IF the extensions are made out of hair that all came from ONE person(aka "virgin hair."

some hair extensions are made from 100% human hair BUT the hair may come from 3 or four different people. that kind is not safe to dye or perm.

I have the "virgin hair extensions" in my head and I dye it all the time.

I recommend that if you know ahead of time that you may want to dye your extensions, it is best to go with virgin human hair that is unprocessed. They seem to take ALL colors well.

It if is too late and you already have dye/processed extensions in your hair, I have clients that have had luck darkening their extensions. If you are wanting to dye your extensions ligher ( this = stripping color) you run the risk of damaging your extensions and they will not last as long. Again, it you are a " dyeing freak" and you like to change your color every other month, next time go with virgin unprocessed extensions first, then dye them as you wish!
