Can dogs be gay??

I have 3 boy dogs and another soon to join the household and they all seem to “like” each other a lot.

Answer #1

LOL…are you talking about mounting one another?? It’s just as Harley and baldwinwolf say…it’s a dominance posture…that is all it is…However, what you were thinking …that they “like” one another, has all the potential of becoming a dog fight…so, if it were me, anytime I saw the posturing, I’d discourage it. That makes YOU the alpha, and them ALL beta’s, if you can be consistant in stopping it.

it is a ‘dominant- submissive deal’ with the lead dog doing the ‘liking’ and the subordinate dogs “being liked”

so I would say no- there is a different reason for this in other animals.

Dogs are not “Gay” they do not think like the human mind’s and they don’t breed for pleasure. It is all instinct. It is just to show domentince over the other dog and nothing more, It has nothing to do with sexual preffernce. Those who say it does has a lot to study, If you get your dogs neutered at a early age they will not show this domince side of them. It is all about leader ship and nothing more, there is only a handful of animals that breed because they enjoy it.
