Can a doctor tell if you smoked before a surgery

I am having a breast reduction done and my doctor told me not to smoke for atleast a month prior. Will they be able to tell if I have?

Yes. He can tell if you smoked by looking at the sides of your tongue.

I dont' know about that, maybe do some research and find out why he doesn't want you to smoke a month prior. Don't smoke the day you go into surgery or after midnight, because of the anasthesia...and that could be why, because he doesn't want to have to use the kind they use on smokers...?

Wow. You're going to mess around with something like surgery. That's smart. You do know people DIE during surgery right? This isnt about pulling one over on your doctor.
