You definitely want to budget your money, and make sure that you don't over extend yourself during the holidays.
Put whatever you can into the bank, ideally - even if it's a tiny amount - a regular dollar figure in the savings account as well. That way if you really need a few extra (dollars or quid I suppose, in the UK) then you'll have enough money to tackle the unusual circumstance.
Best of luck to you.
Answer this Question: "budgeting.....where to start after the xmas spending?"

Budgeting.....where to start after the xmas spending?
I have spent a lot of money this xmas, more than I usually would, on myself and on other people. and I like being able to spend money and not really think about it, I say to myself I will put the money back in the bank after xmas, but I am scared I wont. I cant afford not to as the money is for an operation and I dont know when I am going to be called for it. I am supposed to have ã1800 for the operation.... and I have about ã1000, and I earn about ã160 a month, I am at college and am 18. I dont know where to start, I suppose the easiest thing to do would be to just put all my wages into the bank but I want to be able to live too. do you suggest I put half in? ã20 pounds? what would you do?
thanks for reading this and for your help in advance!
