What does brown discharge mean?

instead of getting my period im getting brown stuff and I usually get the brown a day or two before the blood but there is no blood at all this time what does that mean

it means that uhm... im guessing it means that uhm... I heard its just like dried up,, because when blood comes out of your body oxegyn gets to it and helps it to stop bleeding or dry faster...
