Do ducks lay brown eggs?

Just A Path Asked by powermage 3 months ago, 2 answers.

Well... I got some hatching eggs from one of my friends. He said they were duck but they were brown and I never seen a brown egg before. I never raised ducks except the pekin breed so I don't know if theres a breed that lays brown eggs. does anyone know if ducks lay brown eggs?

Ok, well eggs honestly can be any color, just because the eggs you eat are usually white does not mean that ALL eggs are white, actually, most eggs are brown.. They just usually manufacture the white eggs, anyhow.. any animal can lay mostly any color egg[ brown or white] not talking purple or pink, but you never know.. lol. :]

Yes, some ducks lay brown...some lay white...there are even exotic breeds who lay light blue nad pastel pink eggs...no kidding!

No eggs are 'manufactured'...they are all laid by birds...In America, we seem to like white eggs (laid by Leghorns and other white layers)...The large brown eggs you see in the store, are laid by Rhode Island Reds...

They're is the same nutritional quality, and taste...just the shell is different.
