Book trouble

I went to borders and got a book called Nightworld book #2 but it includes what I think are 3 books in one: dark angel, the chosen, and soulmate. but there is also the Nightworld book #1 but I havnt read it yet but I only have the #2 book (I bought it...

instead of the #1 by mistake). my main question is: do you have to read the First Nightworld book to follow the other 2 in the series or are they all different stories about the same person? if I read the #2 book befor the #1, will I be confused because I didnt read #1 first??
