If you have an eating disorder, is your blood still healthy to donate?
And...
Which arm do they get the blood out of? the one that you're dominant with or the other one?

Send this to a friend

well first they do a quick check whether or not you have any disease or anemia. If you have either they don't let you donate. I should know, I have mild anemia and wasn't allowed to donate.

thats true, they will test you first to see if you're able to donate. if youre iron levels arent good enough they will definately not let you donate. if you were to donate you would probably black out, which is very very scarey, it happened to me. and they choose the arm by which vein is most easily accessible.

Odds are your iron levels are probably not high enough if you have an eating disorder
They usually take your non dominant hand (so left if you're right handed) but will take whichever you request if they can find a vein there...

You also have to be above a certain weight (I believe 100lbs) to donate.
