Blogs are normally a place where someone posts a message and you can make comments about. Kind of like a public diary or journal.

Websites on the other hand have more content to them. Often they are online brochures for companies to display their products, services, and provide more information or details about themselves or their products. Personal websites often give you the chance to display your family, friends and yourself and talk about what ever you want. Some will have blogs or guest books where you can make a comment, but usually they don't.

Every Blog is a Website, but most Websites are not a Blog.

A Blog transfers it's data with the http protocol and is formatted in html like ever other
Website. But while you need a website designer to make a standard Website (or
you write it directly in html using a texteditor) a Blog is a system which allows you to
add new content with your webbrowser itself and is therefore similar to online
homepage-builders. Because of that, it's also more limited than websites.

Technically, it's a program running on a webserving computer which generates
the html code on-demand when somebody looks at the page, and most need a
database somewhere to store the content (some have the db integrated).

No. A blog (short from Web log) is a piece of software that allows you to keep an online diary and other people to comment on your entries. There are Web sites that have nothing but a blog on them, there are Web sites that have a blog plus other content, there are Web sites that have multiple blogs, and, of course, there are Web sites without blogs. happy
