What I can tell you about birth control is that my friend had like really bad skin problems (acne and scaring) and she went to see a doctor and he put her on the birth control Yasmin and to me the reults were really really good.
As for birth control making you gain weight... its different for each individual...some women gain weight, some lose weight and for some it has no effect on them.
