What happen if you have paid a bill already and they have sent you to a collector agency by mistake is there anything you can do to not affect your credit.

Write the creditor a letter and tell them to send proof of payment. Then in turn send this letter to the credit bureaus. They have 30 days to respond or the error will be corrected by the bureaus via your request.
