It is very common for a presidential or VP candidate to still run for their senate or house seat in case they lose. Kerry did it in 2004. What will happen is Biden will resign from the senate, and the governor of delaware will appoint someone to the office. That person will only serve 2 years, and there will be a special election in 2010 to elect someone to finish the final 4 years of the term.

So, Biden is now both a 7 time senate winner AND vice president-elect.
How do you think he is going to handle this?
Who gets the senate seat since he is going to be vp?
