Bible pretty much not much of a believer of god

me grinding it up in Big Bear. Asked by kmart about 1 year ago, 23 answers.

Ok, so I'm pretty much not much of a believer of god, disown me, hate me, curse me, but I don't.
I don't see the logic in it, I don't see how it helps at all.
To be 100% honest I believe it is the biggest lie of all time, it's a method of spreading fear,...

lessons of life, morals, and it gets you to think.
The ultimate tease of our species.
and an excuse for explanation.
not really a point to this but to express this to u

Riiight... you don't care...

Oh, and marking all your vicious posts as 'anonymous' after the fact, doesn't really make you look any better. Why don't you just apologize to everyone, especially the other Christians you've embarrassed, and learn from the experience?

kmart, be careful about your accusations. The Bible is really just a bunch of stories, and you interpet them how you will. The Church is usually the one using the Bible to lie and spread fear.

the truth is only what we make our selves believe.
so if you believe this guess what?
its true, in the end it is your life.. why let other people tell you to believe in something you don't?

You're a wise person at a very young age. You don't and have the right not to believe in Allah, Jesus,Jehovah, or any other names. But stand for something and let me know what you do stand for please. Real Talk.

I used to be like you and this is what I discovered reading the Bible: God being pure cannot even look upon sin - man, even in his very best state is a sinner - on judgement day, either: your sins are covered by the blood-shed sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (salvation and only salvation - being a nice person isn't good enough - even at our very best, we are but filthy rags), and remembered no more or they are not (your sins are not covered) - where God's great love comes into play is, He provided a WAY (Jesus) for us not to perish and live in Heaven with Him (He certainly didn't have to do this but did because He loved us so) - if you read carefully John 3:16, this is exactly what it says - each person will either accept or reject, you must decide for yourself and yes, it's so important, it has eternal consequences - He Loves you and wants you to accept God's free gift to man - Jesus - 'if you are a truth seeker, then you will find Jesus' -
Seek Jesus while He can still be found for it won't be long now and the four winds will be let go and our world will be in unimaginable turmoil. Soon the door will be shut and destiny will be decided for all...all you have to do is ask Him to come into your heart...hope this helps you !

First of all, no matter if we believe in god or not, we can all still be polite and civil to each other. We are all people and deserve love and respect.
kmart-I think you are very wise. It is important to think using logic. I suggest you read some books by Richard Dawkins. He is a British scientist and prominent atheist. He is incredibly smart and has a lot of great things to say that I think you will really agree with and get a kick out of. I have read a few of his books and they have all been wonderful. I will say, kmart, I do agree with you 100%. Religion is something to use as a survival and coping mechanism, something to bring comfort and many more things that I won't mention here but I'm sure you can think of them. Keep thinking, dreaming and reading!
Peace!

That's not logic... and God talked to a lot of sinners in the Old Testament. But I guess he could've had his eyes closed?

hahahaha see two people that responded proved why point exactly.

nevets proved it looking like a jackass, and curiosity proved it just by responding with a simple nevets I agree.

nevets, you DON'T know if god exists, neither do I, I don't believe it, stop saying I need to accept that he IS real or I go to hell, because when you say that you prove my point, you have officially been brainwashed by this book only meant to be symbolic lessons.

to be honest you don't have physical evidence that jesus performed miracles, that god is real, you have nothing. nothing but a book that is filled with symbols, symbols are deceiving based on the interpretation of the reader as opposed to the writer, THAT is fact.

what you are spreading is opinion just as I.
I just have more proof, and not just physical, but also proof by examining your bible, that's all.

one more thing buddy, hell is defined as the absence of god, and if I don't believe then I'm already in hell, no difference.

the fire you think of comes from Dante's Inferno and Milton's Paradise Lost.

if there is one thing you don't want to argue with me on, it's this so when you respond sounding stupid (excuse me for my personal attack towards you) I'm again going to throw at you a long response proving you wrong as if dog crap was thrown at your face.

and sassie and nevets, I really am sorry to say this because it's an attack to you personally, you guys are ignorant and irrational. I don't like having a respectable debate with people like you 4 two reasons. it's like beating a dead horse, your not approaching this with an open mind, and you let emotion cloud your judgment because your so mad at what I said. when really in reality there is nothing wrong with questioning that.

and I can honestly truely go into the bible and pull out passages that makes people like you who r believers and followers and turn you into hypocrites because you don't even know what it is your believing and following, whether your athiest, christian agnostic catholic whatever, YOU choose your own faith and beliefs, so don't call urselves Christians and Catholics and followers of the lord and bible when you don't even know what's in it!

I think people should just let other people believe in what THEY want. I mean it's there life.

I myself, believe in god. I don't see any reason not too.
But I don't disown people that don't. And I really don't care if they do or not.
You shouldn't judge people on something they believe.

As long as you have a good explanation in what you believe, than it's fine with me!

kmart---

I don't agree with you. I believe in a god and the bible. but it's totally your right not to. thanks to the country we live in, it's you're choice whether you worship anything at all. so I say, use that free will.

curiousity15: being a fellow christian, let me say this: it's not ok to judge people or their beliefs. it's not ok to condemn them to hell, that's not your right. you have no authority to do so. share your beliefs, don't badger people with them. show people your enthusiasm and dedication to your faith.

If god loves everyone so much why would he send a good person to hell just because they didn't believe in him? That seems kind of wrong.

I see plenty of logic in the Bible, this is my understanding: God being pure cannot even look upon sin - man, even in his very best state is a sinner - on judgement day, either: your sins are covered by the blood-shed sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross (salvation and only salvation - being a nice person isn't good enough - even at our very best, we are but filthy rags), and remembered no more or they are not (your sins are not covered) - where God's great love comes into play is, He provided a WAY (Jesus) for us not to perish and live in Heaven with Him (He certainly didn't have to do this but did because He loved us so) - if you read carefully John 3:16, this is exactly what it says - each person will either accept or reject, you must decide for yourself and yes, it's so important, it has eternal consequences - He Loves you and wants you to accept God's free gift to man - Jesus...hope this helps !!

amblessed: Perhaps you could take the time to explain how God being pure cannot even look upon sin. You paste this same paragraph everywhere anyone asks any question about religion, and it doesn't even make any sense. Are you saying god is incapable of looking upon sin? Isn't he omnipotent? Surely he can look upon sin if he feels like it?
