Best friend please read

she used to be a nice and stuff but now shes completely changed. she said she took latin dance classes since she was 5 so we were showing my cousin how to do it and my friend couldnt even do the basic steps! she slaps everyone who doesnt let her have her...

own way. she says her other best mate lois is spoilt but shes even more spoilt than lois. she makes out that shes poor for attention when she just moved to a big house goes on holiday abroad every holiday! she said she had a older brother living with her dad so I sed 'hows your brother' in the car with her dad and her dad went 'she doesnt have a brother' . and if I get another friend to hang round with us just for a day shes always like 'NONONO' never giving them a chance. and when I ask her to keep a secret she ends up telling half the year! and she says I owe her money when she owes me! what should I do? I cant ditch her because I know shell turn all my other friends against me.

If you can't end the friendship, then modify it.

You obviously can't trust anything she tells you, so just shrug it off...you know it's a lie, but letting her speak isn't going to hurt anything, because you know better. Let her say what she wants to, but don't give it anymore thought and don't encourage her to add to the lie - that doesn't help.

If she tells your secrets to people, don't tell her any.

In the meantime, work on developing strong, trusting relationships with your other friends, so that when the time does come to leave her, they'll side with you and won't listen to her accusations.

She's obviously trying to compensate for something...for some reason, she's not comfortable with being herself.

Oh, the same thing happened to me. We used to be the best of friends but I didn't like how she was doing drugs and she stopped listening to what I had to say, so I left her. I was the only one making an effort to keep our friendship intact. Instead of making it short and sweet, she decided to make a big problem out of me leaving and it exploded into a war which I really didn't want to be a part of.

Later she turned all my friends against me. So I left anyways, because I wasn't going to accept a friendship like this. And if my other friends were to leave me, it's because they weren't my true friends in the first place.

I chose to leave.
In time the friends that I did care for, chose to remain my friends.
And I found out who was real, and who wasn't.
